Fall 2009.....

Well....where does time go?? I can't believe that it is already fall and the kids are getting so big. Jayden is already 3 years & 5 months and Shelby is 7 months old. I am so not ready for winter to be here....Jayden can't wait. The kids are so excited for Halloween, Jayden is going to be Darth Vador and Shelby is going to be a skunk. So CUTE!!

Shelby can certainly sit by herself now and loves food (any food you will give her). Jayden started school in August and he loves it. He goes 2 half days a week.

Other than that, not much is changing around the Barber household...planning the wedding I guess. :)

June 25th

Well let's see, it has been a little while since I have been on here. Shelby is now almost 4 months old and Jayden is 3 going on 12. :) The kids are so much fun!! Shelby already had her first ear-infection...poor little girl. I thought she was just teething as those are the symptoms she had, but since she had a fever they had me bring her in. They said her ear infection could be from the teething. I can feel the top ones, but can't see them, so I don't know. Other than that everyone is doing good. Shelby already weighed 15 lbs when I brought her in on the 18th. Jayden is going to go to Summer Preschool here shortly (July) and then Vacation Bible School for a week in August. I think he will really like it, he can play with some little friends. :)

Where does time go???

Well where does time go? Jayden is already 3 and Shelby is 2 1/2 months...WOW!! I can't believe how big everyone is getting. Jayden is pretty much potty trained now (well still working on #2, but #1 is complete) and Shelby is such a sightseer...she thinks she is going to miss everything so she is constantly looking around. We call her bugsy as her eyes look like they are going to pop out of her head most of the time since she is so interested in everything. :)

Jayden still loves being a big brother, it is funny sometimes....he has so much love for Shelby sometimes, he just doesn't know what to do with himself. Sometimes he gets too rough because he just wants to love her up. LOL Little man is now driving his own 4-wheeler....an actual 4-wheeler, it is so funny to watch him tool around. Plus he got an awesome swing set for his birthday from both sets of Grandparents...even Shelby gets to use her swing on it.

Shelby already weighs 11 lbs 4 ounces....wow little girl. :) She has been sleeping through the night for a while now....THANK YOU GOD!! She goes to bed about 9:30 PM and gets up around 6 AM, I think we lucked out with both kids, they are both good sleepers.

Both kids are home for the summer....no daycare!! YEAH!!! Mike and I worked it out so he is home during the day and I am home at night with them. It sucks for us as we don't see each other much, but it is worth it to be the ones raising our own kids...well at least for the summer until Mike starts school again. :) Mike needed this time with the kids as he has been so busy with school, work, and limo driving.

Where do I start....

Well it is May already....WOW!! Shelby will be 2 months on Saturday. She goes in for her two month appt and shots on Friday....poor little girl. She is getting so big, I can't believe how fast time flies. Jayden turned 3 on May 2nd, he is getting to be such a little man.

Shelby is doing pretty good with sleeping, she goes to bed about 9:30 and sleeps until 5-5:30 and then goes back to sleep (well other than this moring, she was up at 4:30). I have to say though, once a night isn't too bad and it is pretty close to me having to get up anyway...so it all works out. Plus when she gets up earlier it gives her and mommy some time together and when she is sleeping it gives Jayden & mommy some time together. Daddy will get to have lots of daddy and me time this summer....YEAH!! The kids will love it.

Everyone is doing well, Mike is still in school until the middle of may, I am back at work :( I miss my babies, and Jayden & Shelby have been at home with Grandma Dena for the week. We are going to pull the kids from daycare for the summer, Mike will be home with them during the day and I will be home with them in the evening while Mike works....kind of sucks we won't see each other much, but at the same time it is nice to have the kids home. Then by the time Mike goes back to school, Shelby will be almost 6 months old so we won't be as nervous sending her to daycare.

Hope everyone else is doing good and getting ready for summer....we certainly are.

March 14, 2009......Shleby Lynne is here as of 3/9/09

Well as you can see Ms. Shelby Lynne has joined our family as of March 9, 2009. She weighed 8 lbs, 21 Inches long and joined us at 11:50 AM. Her labor so a breeze compared to Jayden's (well as far as labor can go). We checked in to the hospital at 5:45 AM on Monday to be induced, but they didn't actually start anything until 8:45 AM when the doctor arrived to break my water (needless to say Doc was NOT happy with the nurses as I should have been on pitocin by 6 AM). Once doc broke my water and started the pictocin at 8:45 AM, I started having those wonderful contractions and by 11:35 I was ready to start pushing. I pushed for 15 minutes (like I said a lot different than the 3.5 hours of pushing with Jayden) and Shelby joined us. Oh did I say they wouldn't give me ANY drugs since I went from 2-10 so fast...wasn't impressed, but at least it was fast. :)

Now we have been home since Wednesday morning and everything is going great! :) Jayden loves being a big brother, he thinks he is the only one that should hold Shelby (not even mom or dad should) and loves to be a VERY protective brother...this could be interesting. :) Shelby has an interesting sleeping pattern the last few days (guess we got spoiled the first time around), although last night she only got up three times to eat and get her diaper changed. I actually woke up several times because I thought she was sleeping too good. Go figure! :) She is sleeping in her carseat because she refuses to sleep in her craddle...I don't think she likes the room she has. I feel bad saying she sleeps in her carseat, but it works because I think she feels secure...so we will try it for a few days and then try the craddle again.

Ok....3 days left...

Our newest edition should be here in 3 days or less....YEAH!! We are all excited to meet the new little one. Jayden even has been practicing carrying his "sister" around so she doesn't get wet from the snow. It is SO SO SO cute! He says "mom I carry the baby like this so she doesn't get wet" and he has is arms swaddled. :) I love it!! Hopefully he will still like the little one once he realizes they are here to stay.

I am feeling good, but certainly ready to be done. My feet are swollen now and I am uncomfortable 100% of the time.

Well Welcome newest little Barber family member....Everyone can't wait to meet you. :)

7 Days and counting...can that be real?? :)

7 Days and counting...it seems like that is so close, but yet so far away. :) I think we have finally narrowed down our names, but as life goes, I can say that they will probably change by the time we have little one...nothing can ever be set in our house. hehe

I am more than uncomfortable at this point. None I repeat none of my pre-pregnancy pants will even fit over my butt...with Jayden I got away with that for most of my pregnancy, but this time my belly is ALL in front, so it doesn't work so well. I sure hope and pray I can lose the weight again like I did with little man, but I heard it is a lot hard the second time around....I guess we will see. One thing I heard is that labor is easier the second time around (don't know how that can be, but I pray they are correct). :)

11 days and counting.....

WOW!! Are there really only 11 days at max until our little one is here? On one hand that seems like forever away and on the other hand it seems like it will never get here. I have officially...I think I said that before, but now SERIOUSLY officially I only have two pairs of maternity dress pants that fit (sucks when you have to wear dress clothes at least 4 days a week) and only 2 pairs of maternity jeans that fit....UGH!! Most of my shirts are getting too short (or at least they feel too short). I feel like a house, but I know it is all worth it for the little one who will arrive shortly. :) I have gained 34 lbs as of 2/16/09...hopefully I don't gain much more.

I don't remember having as much discomfort with Jayden, but they say pregnancies are totally different from one to the other. I can't sleep for more than a couple hours at a time, I have to get up at least once...some times twice a night to go to the bathroom. Poor little man....he wanted me to lay on the floor with him the other day...so I did...I was in so much discomfort when I tried to sit up, he says "Mommy I help you." (SO SO SO SO CUTE) and then he says "I kiss it." so he thought he should kiss my leg as he thought that is where I hurt, he wanted to make it better. What would I do without him, he is so wonderful!! :) My perfect little rambunchious man, who can't wait for his little sister/brother to arrive. He keeps telling me the baby needs to wear diapers and will go and get one for me. I can't wait to see how he is when we bring little one home. I took part of next Friday off so that I can spend some time doing something fun with Jayden before baby gets here (although I try to spend as much time with him now also) and also to make sure everything is ready.

Little one now doesn't really kick much....I think it is more like booting me in the stomach saying he/she is ready to come out. :) We will see how far dilated I am when I go in tomorrow to the doc....I was at 1 1/2 on 2/16/09...maybe it's changed....or maybe not. Scary enough I only have 7 more days of work and only 2 more doc appts...including tomorrows until baby is here. We need to be at the hospital by 5:45 AM on March 9th to meet our newest edition.

Oh yeah....we are no longer set on names....none of the names we had picked out before will probably be for little one/ We keep adding to our list again and again and then crossing them out again and again. We get to a point where we narrow them down and then think oh we need to add more....I guess we will see when little one arrives. :)

Other than that everything is going well! Hope all is well with everyone else and can't wait for you to meet our newest edition. Talk to everyone soon.

18 days and counting....

With only 18 days and counting...reality is starting to set in. :) Tons of diapers to change, clothes to wash, and limited sleep are on there way....Oh well, it is all worth it. I think Jayden will be such a good help. I think Mike is getting excited now also, we were just talking about when Jayden was little and he loved to snuggle and was so dependant on us. Now little man is SO independant and doesn't want to cuddle as much (although he loves to cuddle with mommy when it's time for bed, I love that). He loves to be out doing stuff with Daddy now too...4-wheelers, trucks, mowing lawn, shoveling, plowing...anything outside with Dad (it is really cute). Still working on potty training...it has it's ups and downs....maybe some day we will get there. :)

Closer & Closer.....

Ok is the date getting any closer....yeah I guess it is. 24 days and counting. Today I feeling like a little foot is going to poke out at any time....ok not sure I am ready for that yet. :) Oh well little one will join us when they are ready.

We have now narrowed down names even further...although we will still probably change our mind 10 more times before baby arrives (still have to pick out middle names though).

Why is it so hard to pick a name this time around??? With Jayden we were set...Jayden for a boy and Ava for a girl. Now there are two many Ava's so we want something unique....starting at square one. :)

I went to Target today (this tells you I go to lunch there too often)...the ladies know my face and name. Anyway that cashier says "so has anyone told you that you really dropped already?" I just laughed....Yep a week or so ago. So does dropping really mean anything in baby world....I don't know. Jayden never dropped so....what does that say. :)

I think we are all ready....bottles, diapers, cradle, clothes (which by the way, no matter what...not many baby clothes are neutral even if the color is...they all have sayings), nursing gear is ready (I mean the pump...well and I guess the attached body pump). :) Oh and of course little man is so ready for baby to be here. He is such a grown up for only being 2.5...he told me last night (with his arms swadled), "Mom this is how you hold the baby....and you rock them back and forth." So right he is!! Where did he learn that, we don't have any little ones at home, must be from daycare...man that was cute. Along with his dancing to "I like to move it move it" and his little butt shaking back and forth. :) What would we do without kids?? I would be so lost. Little man is the best! I think he is going to be such a good helper.

22 days and counting...Ok here is a new picture...I know it's a little late. About 8 1/2 months. :)

26 days and counting....

I have to laugh when I say so many days and counting as everyone asks..."How do you know you only have that many days left?" Well I know that because we are being induced on March 9, 2009 if our newest little edition has not arrived by then. :) Which is one week early of our due date (March 17, 2009)...Jayden was so big though, so hopefully this helps. It is kind of weird to kind of know the day your child will arrive...well I guess we don't totally know because little one will probably come when he/she wants and not when we are planning...Oh well, I guess it leaves you guessing. :)

As of now we still don't know if we are having a little girl/boy, so they will be a big surprise for Daddy, Mommy & Jayden. Jayden still insists he is having a sister and if you tell him anything different he is NOT HAPPY!! :) We have a list of names at this point, but nothing narrowed down....guess we should probably do that soon....sooner rather than later as there are only a max of 26 days left.

I am getting nervous now.....I want the little one to be here, but at the same time I just keep thinking about what labor was like with Jayden and how I said I would never do this again (for the labor part, I love the little ones)....Well here we are....but this time it really is the LAST time. :) We will adopt if we want any more little ones.

31 days and counting......

Ok the real countdown has begun....31 days at the most. YIKES!!!! I repeat YIKES!!! Now I am getting nervous. :) Don't get me wrong, I will be excited when baby is here, but boy is our world going to change....two little ones. WOW!

Well my stomach is now hard as a rock....SERIOUSLY there is NO NO NO room left in my belly. I have more faint strech marks than I did with Jayden (which sucks) but ok I will deal with it. But I am so uncomfortable at this point it is unbelievable....I was never this uncomfortable with little man...I guess what they say is true...No two pregnancies are the same. I feel like such a baby...OH well so worth it when the newest edition arrives. :)

Last night my back hurt so bad that I couldn't sit or bend, I had to lay down and then there was so much pressure on my pelvic area and the pelvic pressure continues today....WOW this is different. :) Going to the doc for my check up today, so hoping she will tell me it is normal.

Other than that, Little Man is doing GREAT!! He talks just like an adult. He asked me the other day "so mom how was your day?" I just started laughing, and so he asked me again. So we had to sit and have a conversation about my day and his and what we did. SO CUTE!! I LOVE IT!!! :)

41 days to go.... :)

YEAH!! Down to only 41 days to go until our newest edition is here. Jayden is getting so excited, he already plays with the carseat and says that's where his "sister" is going to sit. :) It is cute. He also likes to kiss and hug my belly. Mike & I are getting excited but nervous....our world will have another big change...which we are happy and excited for but also realize how much more work we have ahead of us.

Still working on potty training Jayden....maybe by the time he is 12 will be potty trained...if we are lucky!! :) Everyone says when he is ready he will train, so I am not pushing it too hard.

Other than that same old same old. We get induced on March 9th if baby is not here by then, which will work good for Mike with school as that is the start of his spring break. Well here are a couple new pictures of little man loving my belly.

Almost 31 weeks and counting....

Well I will be 31 weeks in a couple of days....so the countdown has started. :) The doctor has decided she is going to induce me at 39 weeks if I don't have baby before then. I am excited....we might actually have a little bit of a schedule to know when baby will be here (although I know nothing ever happens as planned).

I am going to pack my hospital bag this weekend just to make sure we are ready. I got an outfit for a little boy and one for a little girl, along with a little white bear snowsuit...so cute has ears and bear paws. The carseat is ready along with the cover and the base is in my car (I need to tighten it more though). Both sets of grandparents have given baby new blankets to snuggle with...yeah I love blankets (my mom made a quilt for baby....I love it).

Jayden is ready for his "sister" to be here....I can't wait to see if he is right. We are happy for either a girl or boy as long as healthy & happy. Now we just have to get him used to the bunkbed instead of his toddler bed...he claims he is going to let baby sleep in the crib. We'll have to see how that goes. :)

Other than that still working on potty training Jayden.....one step at a time. He does good most days if you put him on the potty, but he won't say he has to go until it is too late. Oh well, they are only little one right.

Oh yeah should I say....I have gained 26 lbs alright.....YIKES!!! I feel like a house, and can't wait to fit in my old clothes and hold our newest little one with along with our little man Jayden.

Well the countdown had officially hit me today.....YIKES!! I hit thirty weeks, which means only 9 weeks left at the most before the new little one is here (they are going to induce me a week early if I don't go before that). I am nervous and excited at the same time. :)

I think everything should be ready. I just have to put the mattress back in the craddle, all of Jayden's clothes from when he was little are in totes so we should be set there...of course if little one is a girl I will need to pick up some girly things. :) If little one is a boy, they have more clothes than they will ever need.

We still haven't narrowed down all of our names, we have a few of each that we like....have to wait and see I guess. Other than that, just getting bigger and bigger....I will post more pictures soon.
