July....it's almost over

Shelby is 16 months now...almost 17 months....where does the time go. My little girl is no longer a baby, she insists she is a big girl and has to have everything her big brother does (drinking out of a pop can, silverware, cups with no lids, sitting on the potty, etc). It is interesting to see how independent she is.

Jayden will be starting preschool again soon, man oh man...that means my little man starts kindergarten next year. He is so smart and so strong willed...what a scary combination. :) That little man knows how to drive a car, 4-wheeler, tractor, skid-loader, lawnmower, etc already....WOW!! I guess that means no more keys left in anything.

Mike is officially done with school and trying to figure out what he would like to do when he gets bigger. :) I think before long we will be back into farming...not quite sure how I feel about that, but whatever makes him happy is fine.

I'm just working away and planning the wedding. I can't believe that the wedding is only 33 days away. It seems like just yesterday I had 6 months left to plan and now I need to have my dress into the shop in 2 weeks with alterations done, the food completely ordered, get my rings sodered, called the pastor today, and confirmed with the flower shop....man what a list, but oh so much fun. I would love to do this for a living.

All in all, we are all doing well. Enjoying the summer as much as we can. Hope all is well with everyone else.

Where to start...it has been a while.

Well Shelby has grown lots since I was last on here. She started walking at about 11 months old and is now almost in a run. She is so cute as she is so short it doesn't look like she should be walking. :) At her 1 year appointment she weighed 20 lbs and is 28 1/4 inches long...which means she's only in the 25%...big difference from her brother. Shelby likes to yell at her brother, although we can't yet figure out what she is saying. They just squeal and squeal at each other...it is so cute to see them actually play. She does however say Dada, momma, and Ut-Oh. LOL

Jayden is getting bigger and bigger every day also. When he was in last, he was 41 1/2 inches tall and 40 lbs. He is in the 90% percentile for all of his measurements. When we brought him to his preschool screening, they told us he has the vocabulary and annunciation of an 8-11 year old....Very proud momma & poppa. Now if he would just comply with the laws of nature and decide to use the toilet 100% of the time instead of his pants 50% of the time we would be doing great. I think Shelby will be potty trained before him. Actually Shelby sat on the little potty the other day and went pee....NOT JOKING!! I sat her on there just to get her used to the idea and she sat there and went pee and then stood up and walked away like she knew that's what she was supposed to do. LOL!!

Time flies when your having fun....

WOW I guess it has been quite a while since I have updated this. Shelby is no 10 months old and crawling and terrorizing everything. She is my little monster. I don't think she is going to be a girly girly...she already loves the roar of trucks and pushes them around the floor on her knees. hehehe Jayden is oh so busy, he still goes to school two half days a week and is full of energy. We have again reverted back to potty training (I seriously am going to pull my hair out soon).

Other than that everyone is good. Just planning the wedding, playing with the kiddos and working. Hope to see everyone soon.

Fall 2009.....

Well....where does time go?? I can't believe that it is already fall and the kids are getting so big. Jayden is already 3 years & 5 months and Shelby is 7 months old. I am so not ready for winter to be here....Jayden can't wait. The kids are so excited for Halloween, Jayden is going to be Darth Vador and Shelby is going to be a skunk. So CUTE!!

Shelby can certainly sit by herself now and loves food (any food you will give her). Jayden started school in August and he loves it. He goes 2 half days a week.

Other than that, not much is changing around the Barber household...planning the wedding I guess. :)

June 25th

Well let's see, it has been a little while since I have been on here. Shelby is now almost 4 months old and Jayden is 3 going on 12. :) The kids are so much fun!! Shelby already had her first ear-infection...poor little girl. I thought she was just teething as those are the symptoms she had, but since she had a fever they had me bring her in. They said her ear infection could be from the teething. I can feel the top ones, but can't see them, so I don't know. Other than that everyone is doing good. Shelby already weighed 15 lbs when I brought her in on the 18th. Jayden is going to go to Summer Preschool here shortly (July) and then Vacation Bible School for a week in August. I think he will really like it, he can play with some little friends. :)

Where does time go???

Well where does time go? Jayden is already 3 and Shelby is 2 1/2 months...WOW!! I can't believe how big everyone is getting. Jayden is pretty much potty trained now (well still working on #2, but #1 is complete) and Shelby is such a sightseer...she thinks she is going to miss everything so she is constantly looking around. We call her bugsy as her eyes look like they are going to pop out of her head most of the time since she is so interested in everything. :)

Jayden still loves being a big brother, it is funny sometimes....he has so much love for Shelby sometimes, he just doesn't know what to do with himself. Sometimes he gets too rough because he just wants to love her up. LOL Little man is now driving his own 4-wheeler....an actual 4-wheeler, it is so funny to watch him tool around. Plus he got an awesome swing set for his birthday from both sets of Grandparents...even Shelby gets to use her swing on it.

Shelby already weighs 11 lbs 4 ounces....wow little girl. :) She has been sleeping through the night for a while now....THANK YOU GOD!! She goes to bed about 9:30 PM and gets up around 6 AM, I think we lucked out with both kids, they are both good sleepers.

Both kids are home for the summer....no daycare!! YEAH!!! Mike and I worked it out so he is home during the day and I am home at night with them. It sucks for us as we don't see each other much, but it is worth it to be the ones raising our own kids...well at least for the summer until Mike starts school again. :) Mike needed this time with the kids as he has been so busy with school, work, and limo driving.
